Technical shots of the Lenoxx DVD-8000 player

There's very little inside this DVD player, if anything, it's rather disappointing to open up the box, and have a look inside; you do feel as if you're being cheated a bit.  There's enough spare space inside it, that they could have made the unit smaller; but it's the same size as most standard HiFi gear, and that was probably the main concern.

Inside the deck:

Dead centre is an ordinary computer DVD drive, to the left is a simple computer type of power supply, and to the right is the decoder board (there's a closer shot of this board below).  And that's all (there's nothing else underneath the drive mechanism, or the other two boards that you can see).  The DVD drive is a Fuss Audio DV9929B Chinese-made unit.

Main board:

The large chip would appear to be the main decoder (some unidentifiable ESS video chip, thanks to the numbers being rubbed off), and the twin chips above it are RAM chips.

Connector panel:

There's the usual array of composite video, 4 pin S-Video (Y/C), component video, stereo and digital audio outputs.  The component connectors actually have Y/C on them, unless you switch over to using component video.

Remote:

A very standard looking remote control.  I've seen the same one used with another DVD player.  It looks like a standard kit item (so does much of the rest of the DVD player).
